Torah bright shined on Colorado with her golden performance at the
X-games 2009. Although Torah is from down under (Australia)
she is no sloth when it comes to the mountains.
When Torah began her career, many thought she was the
next coming of Anna Kournikova. Very attractive, but not much
substance when it came to winning titles and gold medals.
She proved everyone wrong and is on her way to make
history as one of the greatest female snowboarders ever.
.
At this moment you have Kelly Clark, Hannah Teter,
an Gretchen Bleiler. On any given day
these ladies can take gold or win a Grand Prix event
without a whole lot of competition. The ladies
haven't progressed on the same level as the men.
Athlete's like Danny Davis,Antti Autti, and Mason
Aguirre, have made old heads like Ross Powers think
about retiring from snowboarding. These dudes are
doing sick tricks.
.
The ladies on the other hand are possibly doing a 720 hear,
and 900 there, but no 1080's, at least not in competition.
And if I see one more lady do another crippler, I'm gonna
freak out.
.
On a serious note there are lady's that will push
the envelope eventually. They are Elana Hight,
Clair Bidez, and Lindsey Jacobellis. If Lindsey
were to concentrate on Superpipe, she would probably
be the first woman to do back to back 1080's. She's just
a natural athlete. Her talents and skills come around
once in a lifetime.
.
Torah Bright is a workaholic. I've seen her practice with her brother
who is her trainer. They will get up to the Superpipe bright and early
and practice on potential tricks that she may do during an event. As
the saying goes practice makes perfect, and Torah is focused on the
ultimate goal, winning gold medals, and titles. She could easily be
modeling part-time or focusing on other things, however at this
moment in her life, she's on her grind, making it happen.
